Next weekend is our ski trip to Asheville, NC.  It is less intimidating for non-believers, but will still be gospel centered and from the Word.  Here are some prayer requests!

1. Pray our students would recruit their friends well and be intentional
2. Pray hearts would be changed by the weekend
3. Gospel would be clear
4. For these women to go and be transformed by it: Jenna, Laura, Kristen, Allison, Sarah, Jess, Hallee
5. For speaker Rupert and his family: his words, their safety, would minister to/encourage them as well
6. Safety driving to NC and on the slopes

Transitions, transitions, transitions.  This semester looks very different than any previous ones.  Since I am getting married and moving on up to Minnesota in April, I'm trying to figure out how to leave these women in strong places.  I want them to have support systems in place and for my leaving to be gradual and not harsh.  So, another level of discipleship has been added.  It's actually a great picture of what I hope to do for ht erest of my life: train women so they can lead others and not just do it by myself.

Here's the breakdown of the semester: Darrah is formally meeting with my sophomores and I'm helping coach her though it.  And Megan is starting to lead Bethany and I get to coach Megan through it.  And Bethany is taking more control of the movement in ZTA and I get to help her with that.  So they have much more ownership of all that is happening.  It's all growing too!  ZTAs are asking to be in Bible study (Sophie, Bethany, Karissa)!  More and more ADPis are asking to get plugged in with investigative studies (Melissa, Megan) and for discipleship (Christy).  God is MOVING!  THANK YOU for all your support and prayers!  He's using them!

1. My transition: God prepare me to leave strongly by helping me to be fully in Atlanta training women and preparing them to take over, giving them all I have and withholding nothing, but also preparing me for marriage and for my move to Minnesota.
2. Darrah: for deep and rich time with God and for discipline of getting in the word; for wisdom and discernment as she leads the sophomore girls I led for the past year (Katelyn, Meghan, MK, Lauren, Kristin, Christy), clarity in possibly coming on staff with CO next year
3. Megan: for discernment in leading Bethany (below), wisdom in her relationships, guidance with post-graduation plans
4. Bethany: for deep understanding of the gospel, that she would cling to Christ and would turn and return to the gospel for everything and in everything, that He would give her comfort and healing, that He would guide her in meeting with ZTAs
5. Hard hearts would be conquered by Christ: Nina, Camille, Natalie, Davis
6: ZTA: Our Bible study grew again!  A different Bethany wanted to join too!  Pray that they would be growing and yearning for the Lord, that they would come consistently; sophomores Hallee, Jessica, Lauren, Kelsey, third year Bethany, and first years Sophie and Karissa.
7. Wedding planning and marriage: That I would constantly be claiminig Christ and giving Him the burdens and anxieties that come with wedding planning, that both Andrew and I would have our expectations set and we'd be as prepared as we can be for marriage...And we've already seen Him answer prayers!  We have a place to live in MN!!

Praise Him! 01/07/2009

Lawton, a sophomore, who we've been praying for for nearly two years had a huge New Years Conference.  She was thinking deeply about Christ and evaluating her life.  She has assurance now.  She may have truly accepted Christ at the end of December!  Please pray for her!

1. Lawton would walk in the Spirit and grow.
2. For Natalie who has made a lot of realizations about God over conference
3. The sophomore ADPis that their vision for living missionally would grow and they would be intentional with their friends and the freshmen they are praying for
4. The 4th year ADPis who will help disciple the younger women and teach them what it's like to consistenetly walk with God
5. Bethany and the ZTAs.  God has expanded out group from 4 ZTA sophomores and added 2 ZTA freshmen!!  He is so great.  These women are the "little sisters" of two girls in the Bible study and they wanted to come!  So pray for Sophie and Karissa as they join us in investingating Christ more too!
6. That I would be free from anxiety and God would keep me in perfect peace, staying my mind on him, and helping me to trust in him (Isa 26:3) while wedding planning, raising support, preparing for marriage, leading these women and setting them up for when I transition to Minnesota.

Today is the last full day of our annual New Years Conference.  Pray with me that during this hectic time God would work mightily!!

1. Pray God would give clarity to several women (Hallee, Carson, Natalie, Lawton) about the gospel.  Pray Ephesians 2 with me that their eyes might be opened to the glorious inheritance and riches they will receive in Christ and that they would see that it is by faith alone that they might be saved.  Pray they would have nothing to boast in about the Lord because they would realize it is not of their own accord, but God's great mercy.

2. Rene.  She was openly an athiest when she came to college 4 years ago and now is close to giving her life to Christ.  She said she prayed for Christ to come into her heart, but she would still not say she is a believer, but that she wants it.  Pray God would open her eyes and change her heart!

3. Pray for students to step up and have good follow up conversations with younger students to help them process all they have been learning

4. Safety driving home tomorrow and for conversations with freshmen, young believers, and non-believers in the car on the way home.  Pray God uses the four-hour drive to change hearts too!

Crunch time! 11/17/2008

It's crunch time this semester!  With only a few weeks on campus because of Thanksgiving, final exams and the winter break, we are pushing to have deeper conversations with women as well as challenging students to participate in our New Year's Conference.  Here are a few areas your prayer would be helpful in as the semester starts to heat up:

1. We would walk by faith as Paul talks about in our study of Galatians.  Pray with us that we would live out of faith in how we make decisions and how we spend our time.  We want to see Him use us and work in women before the end of this year.  Pray God would work in Allison, Danielle, Kristen, Brittany and Lawton this semester!

2. We would pursue holiness and not the world.  Pray the Lord would continue to build convictions in all of our students and staff, but especially in young believers (Hebrews 12:14).  Pray this for all our students and staff!

3. That we would be reliant on God for energy and rest while running hard after women.  We want to be poured out like a drink offering the rest of this year, to hold nothing back and depend on Him for refueling.  Please pray this for us all and especially for Lauren, Kristin, Megan, Katelyn, and MK!

4. That our key students would come with us to New Year's Conference so that they can more deeply grasp the gospel, hear solid truth, build community, and receive training in having a consistent personal walk and living missionally. Pray Meghan, Brittany, Jessica, Hallee, and Lauren would go!

Please pray with me:

1. Myself and my girls would go deeper with the relationships God's given us this semester.  Pray we would take advantage of this last month and really hold nothing back.  That we would be bold but dependent on the spirit.

2. Pray that He'd open doors for the gospel and that their eyes would be opened to God's truth for ZTAs and ADPis. ( Hallee, Kristen, Allison, Maggie, Danielle, Lawton, Brittany, Margaret, Laurel, Tara, Kelsey, Lexi, Bridgette)

3. That our New Year's Conference would be gospel-drenched and God would use it to change students' lives. Pray that our key leaders and the women they are pouring into would attend and be influenced greatly by what they hear.

4. That this movement of students would reach the engineering world, business world, teaching field, affect marriages and families, reaching Africa, Asia, South America and all the nations.  That the world would be impacted by investing and building into these students.

5. Further clarity in my relationship with Andrew and seeking the Lord's desires above our own. That we would die to ourselves and seek to serve our Father and each other in considering the future and decisions.

The Lord has been so faithful to make the gospel more vivid and vibrant to me over the past couple of days.  Sometimes it takes hard things to awaken us to Christ.  I have been able to see my sin more readily and am trying to understand grace more deeply.

Please pray for me this week as I wrestle with the Lord for contentment and satisfaction in all he has given me.  Pray I would have a thankful heart.
Pray for the girls at GT that they too would experience the gospel more fully.  They they would identify with Christ and desperately need him at the same time.  Pray that we can paradoxically praise Him for difficult things and look to Him for full satisfaction in the midst of weakness.
Pray we would offer broken and contrite spirits and repentant hearts.  That both Christians and unbelievers would give this to our Father who though he knows the depth of our pride, anger, selfishness, dirtiness, he accepts us more fully than we could ever imagine.
Praise our FAther that He cares enough about us to sanctify us and draw us near.  That He is so willing to do whatever it takes to make us know Him more and rely on Him.  He wants so badly for us to know and experience the greatness of His love for us.

Last week I found out that a senior, Kaite, became a Christian through two senior girls Megan and Darrah.

This past weekend through Tuesday (today) has been GT's fall break.  So I've been able to catch up on a few things.  All my the sophomore girls I meet with (MK, Meghan, Katelyn, Lauren, Kristin) went together with a few freshmen and other girls their age to Destin.  They hope to build stronger relationships with these women and be able to break into spiritual conversations.  Please pray that this time was and their drive home is a catalyst for talking about Christ.  Pray God would use these women to change hearts!

I've been praying for them from John 17 as Jesus prays:
1. That they may know God and Jesus, which is eternal life, Christ would be glorified, and they'd be certain of Christ
2. Acceptance and obedience to the Word and Christ's authority and lordship; the Word would sanctify them
3. They would know everything is from God
4. That we would pray for them!
5. Our Father would be glorified in them
6. PROTECTION: in the power of His name, from evil, keep safe
7. They would have the JOY of Jesus
8. No longer would they be of or in the world
9. That they would be unified and "may be one"
10. They would be sent to the world (and have vision and equipping for it); they would be IN Christ so that the would would believe in Him

It has been a busy week for me and I'm readjusting to being back on campus again.  My sister got married this past weekend which was fun, but stressful at times.  And I was visiting my boyfriend Andrew who is on staff with Campus Outreach Minneapolis last week.  So, I've felt a little disconnected from seeing girls and being at GT.

Please pray for me and for our GT students Colossians 1:10-12,  that our lives would be in a manner worthy of the Lord: "(1) fully pleasing Him, (2) bearing fruit in every good work and (3) increasing in the knowledge of God. May you (4) be strengthened with all power according to his glorious might, (5) for all endurance and patience (6) with joy, (7) giving thanks to the Father."

I would LOVE your specific prayers in these areas too:

1. God would use me at GT: Pray He'd continue to give me vision and love for my girls, that we'd affect the Kingdom moving forward, for discernment in how to do it, BOLDNESS in pursuing relationships, I would step out of my comfort zone, that I would "have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth," and that I would "do well to send them on their journey in a manner worthy of the Lord," (3 John 4, 6).

2. Our student leaders would firmly grasp the gospel and walk in a manner worthy of the Lord: Katelyn, Kristin, MK, Meghan, Lauren, Bethany would decompartmentalize the gospel and it would influcence every area of their lives. That they would see the freedom offered in the gospel as we study Galatians.

3. Experiencing students becoming Christians: Lawton, Brittany, Christina, Hallee, Jessica, Lauren, that investigate Bible studies and small groups would be used eternally, that women would become dissatisfied with the world (1 John 2:15) and would crave Christ

4. Discerment and clarity about my future: Andrew and I are just beginning to pray through and consider next steps and I would appreciate your prayers here!  Please pray we would yield to God's leading and would seek His glory above our own.

Andrew and me during my visit to Minneapolis, MN last week

Please pray for Lawton! She's a 2nd year ADPi who might profess Christianity, but also is keenly aware to the fact she feels not ready to make a leap of faith.  I've gotten to have several conversations with her about where she is spiritually and tonight we talked about what it really means to trust the Lord beyond just saying we believe in Him. We talked about how truly following God is willingness to step out in faith and surrender control to Him.  We talked through how this seems scary, but it's the most secure thing we could do if God is both good and sovereign.  She loved looking at Hebrews 11:1, so please pray the Spirit would prompt her to have faith in things she cannot see!

Please pray for Maggie! The Lord has put Maggie in my path a few different times.  At our last conversation she said she was confused about religion and really wants to go to church and figure it out!  Before I was a Christian, I lived a similar lifestyle and I can relate to her Catholic background as well.  She transferred from Clemson this summer so she's craving community, so let's pray she'd get connected with some of my girls too!

Please pray for Hallee, Jessica, Lauren, Kelsey!  All of these ZTA girls are so interested!  Please pray God would draw them to Himself, and He would use our investigative Bible Study on Wednesday nights to bring them to a relationship with Him with faith and repentance!
