Past events
New Year's Conference
December 27-31, Nashville, TN:
For four days students will take over a Nashville hotel while hearing great speakers and optional seminars on how to follow Christ and live with a gospel focus. It's a great time for students to hear the Word, build relationships with other believers, and receive clarity on the gospel in their lives. Visit this site for more information: www.newyearsconference.org
Student Leadership Retreat
September 5-6, Atlanta, GA:
We'll spend the weekend with our student leaders discussing vision, ministry strategy, and enjoying fellowship with one another. Our theme for the semester comes from a faithful and long-suffering missionary, "No reserves. No retreats. No regrets."
Summer Beach Project
May 29-July 31, Daytona Beach, FL:

The SBP is the primary formal training experience for CO students. For ten weeks, students get full-time jobs at the beach while receiving specialized training with many social opportunities.
During this summer experience, we equip students to take the gospel and practically apply it to their lives by giving them tools to study the Word, share their faith, pray, manage their lives in light of the Bible, explore basic theology, and realize true fellowship so they may be more prepared to walk with the Lord on campus and beyond. We want these men and women know God more intimately and equip them to continue growing.
Cross Cultural Project
May 7-June 28, Johannesburg, South Africa:
For 8 weeks, students are immersed in South African culture to build relationships with and minister to students at universities there. This summer, students will be at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg (near the University of Johannesburg, where we went last summer).
This is the same summer experience that led me to see first hand God's power in ministry and ultimately changed my heart to come on staff. It is an incredible summer of intense Gospel community, ministry, and growth. Pray for the students and staff going that they'd be kept safe, would be used by the Lord, and would know Christ in a more intimate way.
After students return from the CCP, they will visit the SBP to share vision for the world. Check out their blog to hear about previous trips there and how the current team is doing this summer.
Women's retreat
April 18-19, Dahlonega, GA in the North Georgia mountains:
We'll take a weekend to connect with GT women and discuss our specific design as women and the struggles that come along with that.
This weekend away from the city allowed GT women to connect with one another and build community beyond sorority letters. We discussed identifying first as a daughter of Christ and how putting hope in God's promises brings true contentment. With Paul as an example we talked about how identifying with the world and hoping in academics, accalaides, and sel-glory would only set us up for disappointment and discontentment. God was so faithful in bringing about 15 key women together to learn more about living a Christ-centered life.
Winter Extreme
February 15-17, Asheville, NC:
During this three day retreat, students can come to investigate Christianity further while enjoying time on the slopes with friends. We will have a speaker, worship band, and plenty of free time for students to hang out, ski, and explore Asheville.
(Here is a picture of me and Hannah at this retreat three years ago. This trip was instrumental in helping me make decisions to continue following God in college.)
The weekend provided huge momentum among our students at Georgia Tech. Despite the lack of real snow and temperatures in the 50s, we all had a blast on the slopes. It was a great way to build intentional friendships with nonbelievers while providing a context to discuss spiritual things. Our speaker addressed the question "Why should I care?" concerning who God is, who Jesus is, and who we are. These topics and discussions were great tools for us and our leaders as catalysts for personal ministries. More than 300 students came in all with GT bringing more than 100 students. Out of the GT women, 5 ZTAs and 16 ADPis came! Praise the Lord!
Transition Seminar
January 19, Perimeter Church in Duluth, GA:
Rising seniors and recent graduates can discuss and learn how to continue to giving their lives away and making disciples in the work place. This event will feature speakers but will most importantly allow students to connect with mentors who have been living missionally in the corporate and governmental realms.
The Transition Seminar was great as we had several speakers sharing about ministry in the business world and how to practically be missional away from a college setting. Students also had a chance to connect with several older mentor figures. However, the event was cut short due to the snow and less than half the material was covered. Next year we plan to hold this event in the fall to help students begin processing this transition earlier.
