Praise our Lord that He is honored by us asking big things of Him. Praise Him that He delights in providing for us. Let's go and ask of Him as we fully put our hope in our incredible Creator...requests for the week:
1. God would provide for my support to be at 80%
2. That the upcoming New Year's Conference for our students would be used by God to draw students to Himself and to nurture believing student's relationships with Christ...for more information, visit this web page
3. That God would raise up a new generation of believers at Georgia Tech, that we would see His glory in this, and He would provide 5 freshman ZTAs and 5 freshman ADPis to pour into next semester (Psalm 102:18)
4. God would draw me close, His Word would pierce my heart, convict me, and force me to cling to the gospel and God's infinite grace
5. Dr. Betty Jones, a former PR professor of mine and great encouragement, would recover from knee surgery
6. The Hersh family as Mr. Hersh prepares for spinal surgery
God does hear our prayers! I'll quickly give you the run down of all He's provided recently:
1. First, God provided more than enough money to pay for my car...two people just gave gifts that they wanted for me to have! It covered ALL the car expenses and another tank of gas!! Praise God!
2. I've already met one girl who is a ZTA at GT! Please pray for her (Kari). I think she is already a believer, but may not have a heart for ministry. Pray her heart would change and yearn for the lost to know God and that I could go and do ministry with her at her sorority.
3. I've been able to hang out with ADPi girls involved in the ministry too! Please pray for Hillay, Darrah, Hannah, Julie, and Marisa. They are all believers who have been or are involved in our ministry. Pray they would also have a heart for the lost and would go and help me have a ministry in their sorority.
4. Because I am so close to my support goal (70%), I am able to receive my first pay check at the end of this month! Praise God!
Even with all of these amazing answered prayers, please continue to pray that I would be prepared for campus, God would give me favor with the ZTAs and ADPis, that I would be able to meet as many freshmen and sophomores as possible, that I would be used by Him, for my support to be at 100% int he next few weeks! I am so excited about all God is doing and providing! Thank you for being such a huge part of my life and all His work!
Please keep Vuyo in your prayers. She is one of the women who became a Christian this summer at the University of Johannesburg. I just got another email from her today. Although she broke up with her boyfriend earlier in the summer, they got back together. She finally ended it today and I know she is having a difficult time. Vuyo wrote today, "I finally let go of my boyfriend. This week hasn't been easy for me as I am in so much pain." Pray she would rely on God for strength and that He would build her up now into a God-fearing woman. That Vuyo would also see the gospel in this and understand God's sovereignty (Romans 8:28, Jeremiah 29:11, 1 Peter 1:6-8).
