This past Wednesday, I began to exit off 75S onto Howell Mill in the rain when my car came to a stop and would no longer move forward.  Praise the Lord I had just charged my cell phone and have AAA, so eventually my car would be towed and I would be safe.  However, after talking to many mechanics and getting quotes on the repairs, the total still came to $712.  Praise God already...when I picked up my car they gave me a discount and the total was only $588!

Despite the frustration of not having a car for a few days and the price tag, I am excited to see God provide.  This really is an awesome opportunity to experience God delighting in providing for His children first hand.  Please pray he would provide this money and He would do so according to His glorious riches (Phil 4:19).  Pray also that our Lord would receive more glory from this.  Praise Him for working all things out for the good of those who love Him and that He has redirected my eyes toward Him. 

I wanted to give you an update on Amber and her family.  Her mother is recovering well from her stroke and God is using this to help their entire family.  Even though it was scary at first, we can now see the sovereginty of God in allowing her stroke to occur.  Thank you also for all of your prayers- they meant so much to Amber and her mother.

As for the rest of their family, please pray that the recent deaths in their family would awaken their hunger for God and utlimately for their salvation. 

For me personally: patience with God's timing of when I would be on campus, that I would be able to encourage and minister to everyone I meet with about support, for more support meetings and contacts, that God would be molding me into His image, that I would fear God and not man (2 Chronicles 20:15, 2 Cor. 3:18)

Please keep Vuyo in your prayers.  She is one of the women who became a Christian this summer at the University of Johannesburg.  I just got another email from her today.  Although she broke up with her boyfriend earlier in the summer, they got back together.  She finally ended it today and I know she is having a difficult time.  Vuyo wrote today, "I finally let go of my boyfriend.  This week hasn't been easy for me as I am in so much pain."  Pray she would rely on God for strength and that He would build her up now into a God-fearing woman.  That Vuyo would also see the gospel in this and understand God's sovereignty (Romans 8:28, Jeremiah 29:11, 1 Peter 1:6-8).

Please pray for my roomate Amber and her family.  Late last week she got word her bother-in-law died suddenly of unknown causes.  Today, his wife (Amber's sister) committed suicide.  This side of her family does not know the Lord.  Please pray that they would come to know Him and be comforted by Him.  Ask that Amber would be used during this time to bring light to her family and that she herself would be strenghtened by our Lord and His word.  Ultimately please ask that God would be glorified in everything. 

Support raising has been an incredibly encouraging time of seeing the Lord provide in amazing ways.  However, it is starting to slow down.  Please pray I would not grow frustrated or weary, but instead would only experience God's sovereignty, love, and faithfulness even more.  Also, please pray that I would continue to trust in the Creator of the universe and not in people.  That support-raising would not turn into a numbers game but I would be focused on God's incredible promises: Isaiah 40:29, 41:10, Hebrews 13:5
