After week one 01/13/2008

So the first week of the semester is over!  It has been an intense time of learning what ministry really is, what my role is here, and how I can be faithful to God.  Ministry is such a mercy that we have an undeserving part in.  Despite knowing this, I often try taking the credit for any encouraging converstations, any girl's spiritual curiosity, and any life change.  I look past my inadequacies and claim any goodness as my own.  Thankfully, God sees this self-righteousness and has graciously been reminding me that He is actually the sovereign, omnipotent one, not myself.  More than ever I am realizing how powerful prayer is in my life and in these students.  I want to be obedient and faithful, but there is no pressure or burden to see students change- it is all the Lord's doing and that is a great mercy in itself.  So thank you for your prayers...continue to pray with me so that our sovereign God may be glorified in us, in GT women, and all over Atlanta!

1.       My personal walk: I would put all hope in God and nothing of this world, I would cleave to the Word and prayer when I feel overwhelmed; God would guide me in organizing my life (schedules, calendars, finances); I would be disciplined in memorizing scripture
2.       Campus Outreach team: Our staff team would cling to Christ and be united in Him; our leadership would be guided with wisdom and understanding; God would use upcoming Transition Seminar; He would provide 120 students for our Winter extreme
3.       Choosing a church: Guidance in where I should plug in and easily can bring students with me
4.       Ministry: I'm starting a Bible study group with ADPi freshmen Meghan, Katelyn, Sam, and Lauren: that they would hunger for the Word, spiritual growth, and ministering to non-believers; helping minister with older ADPis Marisa, Megan, Julie, Hillary, Darrah; God would open doors to build relationships with a few key women at ZTA; continually spending time with non-Christians and NOT just hanging out with Christians
5.       Non-believers/interested women: ADPi freshmen Dorsey, Katherine, Lawton; third year at SCAD art school in Atlanta named Alicia; that God would open eyes and ears to the gospel
6.       100% monthly support

This new year brings me to my first official semester on campus with Campus Outreach!  I of course feel inadequate, but am also overjoyed to be here.
    1. Pray for the freshmen ADPis and that God would use me to lead them.  They have great vision, but their roots are not deep.  Ask God for them to drink deeply in the gospel and that they would be able to study the word, know scripture, have real and open friendships and would know our God so well.
    2. Pray that these freshmen would also desire to not just reap, but sow and truly labor even if little fruit is seen.
    3. Ask that God would guide the junior ADPis and show me how to help lead them.  Pray they would continue to talk ownership of the ministry and would cultivate intentional relationships with non-believers.
    4. Please ask the Lord to protect these women and myself from falling into a Christian bubble.  Let us not be complacent, but actively hang out with non-believers and then come back to community for strengthening.
    5. Pray that God would open doors for relationships in ZTA, provide favor with these women and open doors for the gospel.
    6. Ask that we would see life change in these sorority houses at GT!
    7. Please pray I would be disciplined in my own walk with God, would be drawn to him and sharpened with the word.
    8. Ask that I would be a more diligent steward of my time, money, and energy.  I want to fight for my own time with the Lord and a sabbath rest, while making my time with students more intentional and effective. Also, I want to set structure and plan now so that I am free to just go and be with students.  Pray I would follow through with all of this!
    9. Pray I would be diligent with support raising and that God would provide ALL monthly support needed (just under 20% to go)!
